Equipment and resources
All schools have duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities, including the provision of auxiliary aids and services. Settings should be equipped with the necessary tools to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Whole Setting Approaches:
- Resources are easily accessible to all CYP to promote independence and are clearly labelled using text and images (where appropriate).
- CYP have easy access to sensory equipment that they require and are supported to use these correctly and at appropriate times.
- Visual aids and prompts are used to support the use of spoken language, eg. Subtitles for videos.
- Resources are clear and uncluttered, labelled using text and images. Print size and font is appropriate. Coloured backgrounds and paper are used to reduce visual stress where identified as helpful
- Equipment is adapted or alternatives given, to meet the needs of CYP e.g., laptop, ear defenders, writing slopes when appropriate
- Resources such as story books, posters, videos should have positive role models representing a range of SEND

- Assistive technology including ICT equipment and software is available to support alternatives to written recording, communication and reading.
- CYP are taught how to use these resources effectively.
